Funding for Performance
Recognition and rewarding excellence in teaching and learning was achieved by incorporating a performance and improvement component into the University funding model.
In the 2006 Budget, 6% of the total allocation for undergraduate teaching has been allocated according to performance on the agreed Teaching Performance Indicators. A further 1.5% of the undergraduate and postgraduate coursework teaching allocations has been allocated to the TIES (Teaching Improvement and Equipment Scheme) (1%) and to the Scholarship Index (0.5%). TIES is augmented with a further 1.5% levy on income from full fee-paying students including international students.
