CASE STUDY: ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIPS
Peter Abolfathi
Peter Abolfathi, scholarship recipient and winner of the 2004 Eureka Prize for the Hand Rehabilitation Glove

The University is pleased to announce the establishment of a new alumni scholarships scheme which will assist students to attend the University.

Thanks to the generosity of donors to the Annual Fund over the past three years, over $400,000 has been accumulated, enabling the University to award three scholarships of $5,000 in perpetuity.

"I no longer have to work part-time but can focus fully on developing and commercialising the glove with my team" says Peter Abolfathi .

These scholarships recognise the critical role that alumni play in support of the further education and nurturing of the leaders of the future – our students.

Your support can help students such as Peter Abolfathi, a PhD candidate in biomedical engineering whose research has led to the development of a revolutionary glove embedded with artificial muscles that provides therapy and function to people suffering from hand injury or paralysis.
