The University of Sydney is enormously proud of its reputation as Australia's leading sporting university, which stretches back more than 150 years. In that time, Sydney has produced 100 Olympians and over 100 Wallabies.

Today, our alumni and friends have a critical role to play in upholding that tradition. Because Sydney University Sport receives no government grant funding, we rely heavily on philanthropic gifts to support athletes across 49 different sports.

One of our current priority areas is the Sporting Scholarships program, which helps exceptional athletes meet their full sporting potential without compromising their academic goals. The scheme ensures our athletes can go on to a rewarding professional career once their days on the sporting field are over.
