International Security Centre
Michael Hintze
The Michael Hintze Chair in International Security Studies was recently established following a significant donation from a distinguished graduate of the University.

Mr Michael Hintze, the founder and Chief Executive Officer of CQS Management, one of Europe's leading asset management companies, provided this gift to support research and strategy development in this important field.

Professor Alan Dupont, well known academic, media commentator and strategic analyst has been appointed as the inaugural holder of the Chair.

"Professor Dupont and the new Centre for International Security Studies will bring together world-class experts to provide agenda-setting policy advice and to lead public debate covering the Asia Pacific region", said Professor Gavin Brown, the Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the University of Sydney. "We are indebted to the generosity and philanthropic spirit of Mr. Hintze".

The new Centre for International Security Studies will be Australia's first truly interdisciplinary group providing academic research and strategic policy advice on international security.
